This figure includes those who have previously renewed through the 10 year renewal (now replaced with the Maintenance of Certification Process -- MOC) and initially certified.

Mississippi NBCT Financial Incentives
National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) are eligible to receive an annual stipend. This stipend for Mississippi teachers is an annual salary supplement of $6,000 for the life of the National Board Certificate. Other counties also provide additional stipends. This includes 13 counties, which pay an additional $4,000 per year. Make sure to check with your local school district to find out what financial incentives are available in your county.
State Recognition
Mississippi is one of the states that recognizes National Board certification. Mississippi teachers who earn NB certification are eligible for a five-year state license renewal.
Educational Credits
Universities frequently provide graduate credit to teachers pursuing National Board Certification. Check with your local Mississippi university to see if credit is possible for you. The University of Mississippi- Ole Miss provides candidates with support for those enrolled in the World Class Teaching Program.
