What are the benefits of being an NBCT in ND?

North Dakota NBCT Financial Incentives                 

North Dakota is one of the states that recognizes National Board Certified Teachers through financial incentives. This includes a $1,000 annual stipend for the life of the certification through a federal and state dollar match. Be sure to check with your local North Dakota school district to ensure this information and to find out if any other incentives are available to you.

State Recognition    

Many states across the national recognize National Board Certification to meet the requirements for initial or advanced certification. Be sure to check the the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction to see what options are available to you. 

Educational Credits               

Universities all over the United States offer graduate credit to teachers pursing National Board Certification. Be sure to check with your local North Dakota university to see if this is a viable option for you.

North Dakota may or may not have local supports for NBPTS in your area. All of these Professional Development experiences will culminate in a finished portfolio that will be ready to submit to the National Board when the portal opens. These programs are designed to be completed in 12 weeks and are delivered through asynchronous lessons with the option to add on live synchronous group coaching for collaboration with other teachers around the United States.
