Oklahoma NBCT Financial Incentives                 

Current teacher candidates who apply and become certified will receive a salary increased based on a state salary schedule adopted by legislature. For the most current and up to date information on this increase, be sure to check out the Ohio Department of Education's Website.

State Recognition    

Oklahoma is one of the states recognizing National Board Certification. In fact, in Oklahoma, National Board Certification can serve as credit toward obtaining a traditional state teaching credential.

Educational Credits               

Some colleges and universities in Oklahoma may offer graduate credit to teachers pursing National Board Certification. Make sure to check with your local Oklahoma university to see if this option is available for you. 

NBPTS Support Options

Oklahoma may or may not have local supports for NBPTS candidates within the district. Regardless of where you are located, an indispensable resource is to find a mentor or cohort to support you through your NBPTS Certification or MOC journey. Candidate Support Providers (CSPs) are found all over the United States, one of which is Tracey Bryant Stuckey. She offers support to teachers located in Oklahoma with offerings for Initial and NB MOC candidates:

• Component 3 (for Initial Certification)
  
• Component 4 (for Initial Certification)
• Renew Like a Pro (For Renewal- MOC Candidates)

These programs will result in a finished NBPTS portfolio that will be ready to submit when the NB portal opens. These resources are designed to be completed in 12 weeks and are delivered through asynchronous lessons, with the amazing option to add on synchronous group coaching, a setting perfect for collaboration with other teachers around the United States and to get your specific questions answered.
