The ranking includes those who have achieved NB certification as well as candidates who have renewed through the Maintenance of Certification Process.

Washington NBCT Financial Incentives
Washington state provides a number of financial incentives to teachers who have achieved NBCT status. These incentives include an annual base bonus of $5,705 to all eligible K-12 public school NBCTs. Additionally teachers who are NB Certified and teach in a qualifying high-need school are also eligible to receive an additional bonus up to $5,000, based on the percentage of time spent teaching at the qualifying school. State Recognition
Washington State recognizes National Board Certification as fulfilling the requirements for advancing state teaching certification. This also includes certificate renewal for five years. Candidates receive the equivalent of 50 continuing education credit hours (clock hours) for each complete component submission. NBCTs receive an additional 100 continuing education credit hours for renewal.
Educational Credits
Some universities in the state of Washington provide graduate credit to teachers pursuing National Board Certification. Be sure to check with your local Washington university to see if they offer graduate credit for National Board Certification.
NBPTS Support Options
With Washington State having nearly 12,000 National Board Teachers achieving NBPTS Certification, Washington has many resources available for support both locally and nationally. One of the national options includes Tracey Bryant Stuckey's NBCT programs. Done virtually, Tracey offers support for Initial NBTS Certification both Component 4 and 3. Candidates going through the NB MOC (Maintenance of Certification) can enroll in the Renew Like a Pro professional Development program. By the end of each program, teachers will have a complete NB portfolio ready to be submitted. All of these PD experiences have asynchronous lessons and the ability to add on synchronous coaching sessions to collaborate with other teachers, not only in Washington, but also across the nation.
